Thumbs down Reporting

Lately I've noticed that whenever anything bad happens to anyone they turn to reporting people to Anet, sometimes for things that don't even make sense.

For instance, one time my guildmates were saying "Alpha Wolf Templars runs this river" in Thristy River and people actually claimed to be reporting us.
Also, today I was reading a post about griefers when I came across this:
Quote:
Well, on the point of griefers, you could always make an anti griefer build. Granted, it doesn't help with the massochistic self-sacers, but you could always screenshot and report them. And definetly do that to the c*nt callers, they need a swift kick off the interwebs.
And most recently, a guildmate of mine was suspended for a day for (jokingly) trying to sell pornographic links because some random reported him for something that concerned him in no way at all.

While the link thing was some what understandable, I honestly don't think Anet could care less if some random person called you a c*nt, or if people sacrifice themselves to death.
Wouldn't it be nice if they added some sort of chat filter to stop all that naughty text from reaching your virgin eyes? Oh wait, there is one!
Maybe I'm wrong, but aren't you supposed to report useful things like bugs, exploits, and things of that nature? I bet that Anet even gets sick and tired of reading the same petty crap reported by people anytime something doesn't go their way.

This kind of stuff is pathetic. It almost seems like I'm back in Kindergarten. What ever happened to just ignoring annoying people, rather than reporting them, anyway? Is anyone else getting annoyed by the constant crying and reporting done by probably a quarter of the GuildWars community, or is it just me?

Edit: Ehh maybe this wasn't the best forum to post in, but whatever.

if i remember hearing someone correctly, in games like WoW, any foul language will get you banned, even if only temporarily, if they catch it. GW is the first online pc game i have that hardly beats down on foul language. personally i like it. its noce to be ablt to scream a few vivid worsd at marcus when he doesnt spawn in a mission, but there are some people, especially in random arenas, incessantly spamming things that they should get banned for because its just stupid and abusing the freedom of speech on guildwars. and i dont mean people advertizing stuff. go stand in RA d1 for a while, and if you dont hear anyone spamming chat, shout "chuck norris" and watch the s%it hit the fan

Edi: its kinda off topic, but i think it is close enough to count as on topic

I don't mind language per se. I do get irked by racism, homophobia, religious slurs and other put downs and stereotypes.
And people that say "your mom" to everything >_>

A.) What was the suggestion?
B.) If there are ways around the filter, it's obviously not enough.
C.) People who play the "just ignore it" card are the reason griefers get away with 80% of the garbage that they do. Stop ignoring it, start reporting more, if A.Net WANTS to do something they will.

Not the place to post this, I'm pretty sure it's been posted before, and no suggestion is found in the OP.
